Intel recently invited me to AWS re:invent 2023 to experience the launch of their new 5th generation Xeon processors! The AI community is currently very dependent on Nvidia both for their hardware and for their software, to build, train, and test AI algorithms. Intel let's you do all of that on a CPU, which means its cheaper and it's end-to-end. GPUs are not good at exploratory data analysis or data ingestions. I was in Tokyo, Japan last month to attend NTT's R&D Forum, which included demonstrations of 6G, Robotics, LLM, Photonics, and Bioengineered technology. It was an absolute blast and a pleasure to be in Japan. I compiled a PyTorch AI model to run locally on iOS & Android! This keeps conversations private, free, & data compliant (both GDPR & HIPAA). In this video tutorial, i'll show you exactly how I did this for my ongoing healthcare project titled Doctor Dignity (previously titled DoctorGPT) so that you can do the same thing for any AI model, particularly Large Language Models. We start by building a simple language model in Python that runs on an Intel CPU, then accelerate it using CUDA for Nvidia GPUs, Metal for iOS GPUs, Vulkan for Android GPUs, and finally the Tensor Virtual Machine for both iOS and Android. DoctorGPT is a Large Language Model that can pass the US Medical Licensing Exam. This is an open-source project with a mission to provide everyone their own private doctor. DoctorGPT is a version of Meta's Llama2 7 billion parameter Large Language Model that was fine-tuned on a Medical Dialogue Dataset, then further improved using Reinforcement Learning & Constitutional AI. Since the model is only 3 Gigabytes in size, it fits on any local device, so there is no need to pay an API to use it.
